Minerals from China.

China has many mineral deposits known for the diversity and quality of their crystallization. This category brings together a selection of Chinese minerals, mainly from Hunan, including fluorite, pyromorphite, quartz, calcite and garnet, depending on availability. Some specimens stand out for the sharpness of their crystals, their transparency, their colours or the contrasts created by different mineral associations.

The minerals from China currently available are displayed a little further down this page.

The composition of this selection naturally changes as specimens are sold and new pieces are added, so some mineral species may occasionally be unavailable or become available again.

Minerals from China: fluorite, pyromorphite, quartz and other species

Fluorite holds an important place in this selection. Specimens from Hunan display a variety of colours, including purple and blue, sometimes with particularly well-defined crystals. Some are associated with quartz, calcite or other minerals, creating attractive combinations through their colours, relief and contrasts between the crystals.

Pyromorphite is also well represented, alongside quartz, calcite and garnet. This diversity brings together specimens that differ greatly in their crystallization, colours and mineral associations. The photographs and videos on the product pages make it possible to examine their details and presentation more closely.

Hunan: a major source of minerals from China

The province of Hunan, in southern China, contains numerous mineral deposits well known among collectors. Important mineral localities include Yaogangxian, Xianghualing and Shangbao, which have produced a wide variety of crystals and mineral associations over time.

The Yaogangxian mine is particularly known for its fluorite, frequently associated with quartz or calcite. Other areas of Hunan, such as Xianghualing, are also recognised for the quality and diversity of their crystallization. This mineralogical richness explains the important place Hunan occupies among Chinese localities sought after by collectors.
