Specimen overview
This galena from Madan, Bulgaria, shows a particularly close association with quartz. The silvery-grey galena crystals, with their metallic lustre, are strongly intergrown with abundant white to translucent quartz crystals.
The specimen features several well-developed galena crystals, some of which stand out clearly among the quartz points. Depending on the viewing angle, some areas are dominated by galena while others display denser groups of quartz crystals. The two minerals are closely associated throughout the specimen.
