Dolomite is a mineral composed of calcium and magnesium carbonate (CaMg(CO₃)₂). 

Dolomite results from a natural phenomenon called dolomitization, during which conventional limestones are transformed by the action of magnesium-rich waters. Visually, dolomite often appears as crystals with rhombohedral faces, sometimes marked by slight striations. Its color generally varies from white to pale pink or light gray, with transparency ranging from transparent to translucent.
