Quartz Galena Calcite - Madan, Bulgaria | Ref. 122

This piece shows a compact association of galena and quartz, with several well-formed quartz crystals visible around the edges and at the base.

The small calcite located at the centre adds an extra detail that makes the specimen more distinctive.

Madan is located in southern Bulgaria, in Smolyan Province, in the heart of the Rhodope Mountains. This mining district has long been known for its polymetallic deposits and for the variety of minerals collected there. Quartz, galena, and calcite form classic associations in this area, much appreciated by collectors. We also offer on our site several minerals and specimens from Madan.
