Specimen overview
This baryte and fluorite association from Saint-Péray, Ardèche, France, is dominated by abundant white to cream-coloured baryte crystallisation. The flattened, elongated crystals form tightly packed groups and fan-like arrangements oriented in different directions, giving the specimen considerable relief.
The violet fluorite appears between the baryte crystals and along several edges of the specimen. The video shows its distribution across the different faces more clearly than the main photograph and also gives a better view of the overall structure of this mineral association.
