Quartz - Montblanc, France | Ref.135

This quartz from the Mont Blanc Massif in France comes from an old collection.

The specimen consists of an intergrown group of transparent to translucent prismatic crystals, some showing a subtle smoky tint. The main crystals display clearly visible terminations and fine growth striations across their faces. The lighter base highlights the overall crystal structure.

The Mont Blanc Massif is one of the classic localities of Alpine mineralogy. Fissures within its granitic rocks have produced highly regarded crystals, particularly colourless and smoky quartz. This provenance gives the specimen particular interest for a collection of Alpine minerals.
