Quartz - Var, France | Ref.35

This crystallised quartz from the Var department in France, dated 2023, is displayed on a clear stand. The specimen consists of numerous closely intergrown white to translucent crystals.

The crystallisation combines several points of varying sizes, closely intergrown. A broader and taller main crystal dominates the upper section, while numerous secondary crystals develop around the base and sides of the specimen.

The crystals display clearly visible terminations and subtly lustrous faces. Natural reddish-brown markings and colourations occur locally across the quartz surface, creating a contrast with its white appearance.

The rear view reveals the more massive structure of the specimen, while the main face better highlights the relief and succession of crystal terminations.

Measuring 100 × 65 × 80 mm and weighing 630 g including the stand, this quartz has a balanced presence and a suitable format for a collector mineral display.

Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale.

Cleaning: use lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse thoroughly and allow to dry.
