Quartz dusted with Pyrite - Madan, Bulgaria | Ref. 117

This quartz plate associated with pyrite comes from the Madan mining district in Bulgaria. Dated 2000, the specimen has an elongated shape almost entirely covered with crystals.

Its surface displays a very dense growth of transparent to translucent quartz crystals. The short to moderately elongated prismatic crystals develop closely together and in different directions, creating continuous relief across the full length of the plate.

Numerous terminations remain clearly visible, giving the specimen a finely pointed appearance. Variations in crystal height create several areas of relief, while the fine dusting of pyrite completes this mineral association from Madan.

Measuring 150 mm in length, with overall dimensions of 150 × 100 × 50 mm and a weight of 490 g, this specimen offers an extensive crystallised surface and a distinctly horizontal presentation.
