Topaz

Topaz is a mineral prized by collectors and gemstone enthusiasts alike. This aluminum fluoride silicate (Al₂SiO₄(F,OH)₂) forms in the orthorhombic system and can produce very clear, well-developed prismatic crystals. Its high hardness, rated 8 on the Mohs scale, makes it one of the most resistant natural minerals, after corundum and diamond.

Topaz comes in a wide variety of colors: colorless, blue, yellow, pink, brownish, or even green, depending on the impurities present during its formation. These nuances make it a particularly sought-after mineral, especially in jewelry, but also in collections, where raw specimens reflect the mineralogical diversity of the deposits.

Famous locations include Brazil, Russia (the Urals), Pakistan, Nigeria, and certain European regions. Each source offers different colors and shapes, which increases the interest of the pieces for enthusiasts.
