Incredible set of pyrite cubes from the famous Navajun mine in Spain (old collection).

Color and possible variations: Pyrite has a brassy-yellow color with metallic flakes. It can sometimes show grayish or greenish nuances, depending on the impurities present.

Nicknamed "fool's gold" because of its similarity to gold, pyrite has misled many novice gold seekers over the years. The ancient Greeks used pyrite to light fires, as it produces sparks when struck with steel.
