About this specimen

This beautiful crystallized calcite from Anduze displays abundant crystallization developed over several sides. Numerous pale crystals cover the dark matrix, forming a dense mineral association with many reflective crystal faces.

One of the distinctive features of this specimen is that it is crystallized on both sides. Different orientations therefore reveal a large part of the crystallization, with varying relief and crystal groupings depending on the side being viewed.

The photos and video show the specimen from several angles and provide a closer view of the crystals and their reflective surfaces.

Provenance

This calcite was collected in 2003 from a quarry in Anduze, Gard, southern France. It comes from an old collection.
