Specimen description

This specimen features several bicolor tourmaline crystals distributed across a light-colored matrix. The crystals are prismatic, sometimes fairly elongated, and occur in different areas of the matrix with various orientations.

Their coloration is mainly in pink to deeper pink tones, with variations in color visible within the crystals. Several crystals stand out clearly from the matrix, particularly along the sides and upper part of the specimen.

The term bicolor tourmaline refers to crystals showing different color zones within the same crystal. These variations can develop gradually or form more clearly defined zones during crystal growth.

Provenance

This tourmaline comes from Minas Gerais, Brazil, a region particularly well known for its pegmatites and numerous tourmaline occurrences.
