This association of siderite and quartz is dominated by a large, well-defined siderite crystal, accompanied by quartz crystallization covering part of the specimen. The siderite displays brown-olive tones with slight greenish nuances, whose appearance varies depending on the viewing angle and lighting.

About siderite

Siderite is an iron carbonate with the chemical formula FeCO₃ and belongs to the calcite group. It can display a fairly wide range of colors, particularly brown and greyish tones, and sometimes greenish hues.
