This specimen features a natural assemblage of chrysocolla and malachite.
The chrysocolla, with its pale blue to blue-green hues, forms an irregular layer partially covered by green malachite, well distributed throughout the piece. The two minerals interpenetrate, creating a marked contrast between the cool copper tones and the denser dark green areas.
The surface shows a slight sheen in places, due to the presence of quartz microcrystals, a sign of partial silicification.
Presented on a base, this chrysocolla with malachite is a decorative or collector's item typical of the primary copper deposits of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
