Specimen overview
This specimen features a reddish-brown to dark brown matrix covered with numerous very pale blue to white hemimorphite crystal aggregates. The crystals form small flattened clusters, some arranged in fan-shaped or rosette-like formations.
The crystallisation is particularly dense in the upper part of the specimen, where the pale blue aggregates merge to form an almost continuous covering. Across the remaining surface, they are more widely scattered, leaving several areas of the matrix visible.
The reverse side, shown in the video, displays a greater proportion of reddish-brown matrix. The pale crystal aggregates are mainly concentrated along the edges and in the upper section.
Provenance
This hemimorphite comes from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Collected in 2010, the specimen comes from an old collection.
