Mica is one of the silicate groups and consists mainly of aluminium and potassium silicate. It has a layered crystalline structure.
Its hardness ranges from 2 to 4 on the Mohs scale, with the layers being the most fragile. Its density is 2.7 to 3.
It is a mineral used in the cosmetics industry for its shine, and in the electronics industry as an insulator.

Legends and Stories about Mica
Mica was known and used by many ancient civilisations. The Egyptians, for example, used mica sheets in wall paintings to create a shiny, sparkling effect. The Aztecs and Mayans also used mica to adorn masks and jewellery because of its brilliance and beauty.
