Specimen overview
This fluorite from Jalingo, Nigeria, displays a compact crystallisation dominated by several large cubic crystals closely intergrown with one another. The most prominent crystals occupy the upper part of the specimen and give the piece a strongly defined structure.
The colour ranges from greyish violet to very dark purple, with almost black areas on the thickest crystals. Under the light, some edges and peripheral areas reveal greater transparency and lighter shades.
Numerous smaller fluorite crystals surround the larger cubes, displaying pale violet to bluish-grey tones.
The video shows the specimen from different angles and highlights its extensive crystallisation, with an appearance that changes noticeably according to orientation and lighting.
