There's no shortage of stories about Stibine ...

 - In ancient Egypt, it was used to make kohl (a powder used to highlight the eye). It was not only a beauty product but also a cultural and spiritual element, supposed to offer protection against the evil eye and infectious diseases.

 - Stibin is in fact toxic, a property that was not well understood until more recent times. Its handling and use in cosmetics and remedies probably caused more harm than good to those who used it without knowing its toxicity.
