Description of the Specimen — Chrysocolla
This chrysocolla appears as a tall, irregular column made up of many small surface features that give it a slightly “moss-like” look. Its blue-green colour, typical of copper minerals, varies gently from one area to another, with some parts looking a bit lighter or more matte.
Chrysocolla forms when copper-rich rocks begin to alter in the presence of water. In these conditions, it can build up in thin successive layers, which explains the highly textured surface seen here, composed of small rounded shapes and fine grains that accumulated over time.
Width 30mm × Height 73mm – Weight 55 g with base.
