This fine dioptase comes from Katanga, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a region known for its copper-related mineral deposits. It displays a deep green crystallization, with a group of clearly visible crystals across the surface of the piece.
The specimen is distinguished by a well-centred main crystal, more developed than the surrounding crystals, which naturally draws the eye. Around this major crystal, several smaller crystals create a dense, irregular relief, with reflective faces visible depending on the angle of the light.
This dioptase is displayed on a base, making it easier to present in a showcase or mineral collection.
From a 2023 collection, this piece measures 52 mm wide by 33 mm high.
