Specimen overview
This amethyst with calcite comes from Rio Grande, Brazil. The specimen combines a purple amethyst base with a pale calcite crystal developed on one side.
The amethyst is mainly located on the left and lower part of the specimen. It forms a group of closely spaced purple crystals, with bright points and varying shades of violet depending on the area.
The calcite develops mostly on the right-hand side, as a pale crystal with slightly cream to yellowish tones in places. Its surface is partly covered with small golden-brown crystallisations.
Dimensions and presentation
The stone measures 105 mm in length and 70 mm in width. It weighs 380 g.
