This fluorite from Jalingo, Nigeria, collected in 2023, consists of an aggregate of tightly intergrown cubic crystals. The specimen shows a dominant very dark blue to very dark blue-green colour, with variations in intensity depending on the thickness of the areas crossed by light. The crystal faces, fairly broad and well defined, contribute to the readability of the crystallisation.
In natural light, the fluorite shows a fairly strong tone, in cool and relatively deep shades. With lighting placed behind the specimen, it reveals a more marked translucency, bringing out the overlapping cubes and the differences in saturation between the crystals.
